Sushi song is within walking distance of my boyfriend's house, so even though it isn't the most amazing sushi you can find in the area, convenience often wins out. This particular night we ordered takeout over the phone and walked down to pick it up. Everything was ready and waiting for us, though it took an extra minute to get the shrimp dumplings. The waitress mentioned they only take a minute or two to steam and she wanted to make sure they were hot when we got them...I appreciated her thoughtfulness. The staff was very friendly and we were soon on our way back to enjoy sushi and a movie on the couch. I had ordered the sashimi appetizer and the salmon California roll. Both were good, not really anything better than average, but satisfied my sushi craving just fine. My boyfriend go the shrimp dumplings and the Maine lobster roll. The shrimp dumplings I thought were quite yummy and I decent portion of 6 for $5. The Maine lobster roll was a little too busy for me with all the sauces and fried elements, but he loved it and there was quite a bit of lobster. I've eaten in here a few times in the past as well and never had a bad experience. They're also open quite late if you would rather have sushi after a few cocktails than your typical slice of pizza or burger.

Owners awesome. Foods great, a little different then the standard sushi place, but different in a good way. You can't go wrong with the a1a roll. C

One of the best Sushi restaurants of Broward County. Surf and Turf roll. Voodoo roll. Shut Up Liz Roll. The best you can get. An experience unlike your average sushi restaurant. The creative rolls are delicious and unique. Make sure you stop in!

Mediocre food, terrible service. The sushi was most unimpressive. Even allowing for its lack of inspiration, the sushi was bland. Also, never in my life have I waited so long, roughly 50 minutes, for three simple rolls.

Very unique place. Great sake and sushi in a fun environment close to everything in Deerfield beach.

Great service and great sushi. The guys behind the sushi bar are very entertaining! This is definitely the place to go for great food, service and just to hang out and have a great time!

Food great, service absolutely horrible. As I sit outside of sushi song looking into an empty restaurant with 2 other tables ... I wonder why it has taken an hour to even get a miso soup. The two other tables have been waiting even longer.. And when they were served the food.. No utensils or soy sauce was given to them so they needed to hunt down the missing server which took about 10min. It's such a shame because the food is very good. Our server is a blond girl who seems so spaced out and just has no clue what she is doing. I have been a restaurant manager for over 15 years and understand the importance of service.. And have experienced bad service often, but this is just ridiculous. Every customer has left unhappy. Please don't misunderstand this review, the food is fantastic and I am a big fan of the other locations ... But this one is seriously lacking in service

Ask for off the menu rolls, the specials are awesome. Cold platinum saki is good and affordable. Place is open until 2am!

I will say, quality in sushi is acceptable. The only changes I would make is the the business process. Service can absolutely be improved as employees are non-engaged in their job. It makes me sad to see a great concept ruined by management or staff. The original owner has a great concept but it needs to be ran accordingly.

Terrible! Childish manager won't lower the volume of the music. The BOOM, BOOM, BOOM made me nauseous. Staff behaved like if they were in a club or rave, not in a reataurant.

Had sushi takeout the other night and it was horrible, the diameter of a cigar, and the price of an expensive one at that, The rolls were second best. They were dry and tasteless. Definitely will not be back, No wonder why when you drive by nobody's in there, just because you have good location doesn't mean you know what the hell you're doing. One woman who made a review even complimented she was the only one in there and that the music was loud the owner needs to start looking at the reviews. The service sucks because when you're not busy you're not used to being busy so when you get busy your service sucks.

Relax and hang out. Get some sake... The salads are fantastic! The rolls are amazing. WAY different from our experience 3 years ago. Great place to have dinner with friends!

We walked inside, asked the guy if we could sit outside, sat there for five minutes. Then finally a guy brought menus, didn't even take our order. I am in the restaurant business and I can understand if they are busy, but there was ONE table in there. My suggestion is Thai Sushi in the cove up the street.

Interesting sushi. They take risks and I like that. They had some unique takes on sushi overall that I enjoyed, however I felt the prices were a bit high. That being said the rent can't be cheap in that monstrosity of a parking garage that is a glaring example of the destruction of my hometowns charm. Servers were friendly, food was good, but I can't help but think that they Try a little too hard to be edgy with their rolls instead of letting the food speak for itself. Good, but not great. Would have given 4 stars if the prices were lower

Very tasty rolls service is a bit slow but worth the wait!! Enjoy the club music while you wait! Try the cloudy sake=amazing!!! Their best roll hands down is the Main Lobster Volcano Roll--spend the $$ for it you'll be glad you did!!

I'm going to begin this by saying I'm a server, and I am usually extremely patient and understanding with servers.. but, I will say that this is the worst service I have ever had. When we walked in the girl handed us menus, we sat at the sushi bar. Time goes by and no server (she is literally hanging out with her friends at other tables) so we ask the sushi maker (mitch) if he can make our rolls for us. Time goes by and still no server. I even tried to get her attention. All this time she is too busy socializing with her friends and yelling across the restaurant about what her friend did that weekend. She looked drunk. Mitch (sushi maker) began to get frustrated at her and grabbed drinks for us, telling her that no one has been over here. She proceeds to yell "they have drinks in front of them!!" across the restaurant while pointing at us. At this point I'm livid. I retort, "yeah, because he got them for us...". She continued to yell at Mitch for no reason. Now that you have a background, as for my opinion. Mitch is the type of person to take initiative, and for that we tipped him, and only him, $50. He actually cared about the service and customers, while the other 2 servers made sure their friends were taken care of and didn't care about anyone else. I have honestly never been this disappointed/angry at a server before. Mitch needs to leave that place, or the servers need to get fired.

We decided to try this place because of a Groupon and the positive reviews it received. Based on our experience, I would recommend against this place. Food was okay but the service was horrendous. It looked like the waiter and sushi chef did not want to be there. Rolls were small, the volcano roll was topped with salmon, and the dancing eel roll was way too sweet. Plenty of better sushi restaurants in Boca and in more accessible locations.

Well I have to say, the service at this place was so bad it was comical. I'm a server myself at an upscale French Restaurant so I know a little about how service should go. So here's what happened to me: My friend and I were invited here for a mutual friends birthday. At 8 we were the first of out group to arrive. We sat at an outside table and waited for the others to arrive until 8:30. Not once did the server come up to us and offer menus or water. Once the rest of our group got there we were told that even though we had made a reservation they forgot to actually have a table for the eight of us. Ok, fine, we'll wait. We asked for water and the server was straight up rude to us. "You're going to have to wait. I have to do this for a table, than I have to get such and such for that table so you're going to have to just wait!" Ok... So we waited about 10-15 min and when we still got no water we went to the liquor store next to the restaurant and bought a few bottles of water. We took them back to the restaurant and made sure the server could see that we had them. At 9 they finally had enough room to seat six of us at the bar so most of our group took those seats and I and one friend sat at another table for two. When we sat down we again asked for waters because we had finished the bottles we had bought. At 9:15 the server rushed over and hurriedly demanded our order. My friend got two orders of gyoza (an app) and I ordered one gyoza and a Sushi roll. At 9:45 we finally got out waters we had been repeatedly asking for since out arrival at 8, nearly two hours. At 9:55 my friend got his order of gyoza but I didn't get mine. The server also spilled the sauce all over my friends pants when she brought his food. At 10:05 I got my gyoza. At 10:20 the sushi chefs left and I never got my sushi roll. At that point we gave up and left.

I miss the old days when inchul used to own it. The new manager is barely ever there and half the time is drunk. Rude to customers. Great amazing food. Crappy service

Delicious sushi! Great great selection. Try one of their specials. Our server Hannah was sweet and knowledgable and suggested the Spider-man roll it was terrific!! Will be back for sure. Very small place, but cozy.

I loved this local sushi place... I got a Groupon for this restaurant, but would definitely go back. The menu is all sushi, so not much variety for non-sushi eaters. I got the Eel Roll, Spicy Scallop and Spider Roll... The rolls were well made, rice nicely seasoned. If I lived closer, I would go here more frequently...

I was at this restaurant on July 4th. After waiting for 45 minutes for 2 rolls I asked the waitress when are rolls would be ready. She had told us 3 or 4 times over the prior 20 minutes that our order was "almost done." After she again said "almost" I told my girlfriend that the service was frightening. The waitress then proceeded to try and educate me by informing me that frightening would be me having to go and eat sushi at Publix. When I asked her if she thought it was appropriate to lecture a customer instead of apologizing for what was the POOREST service I had ever had, the Asian Sushi chef chimed in with "STOP BUSTING MY ASS, I HAVE BEEN HERE ALL DAY!." I proceeded to tell my girlfriend lets leave, I don't want to eat here. The Sushi chef then HURLED THE LOBSTER ROLL OVER THE COUNTER and used repeated "F BOMBS" as I left the restaurant. If it wasn't July 4th with dozens of cops on duty to insure the safety of people watching fireworks I would have filed assault charges against the sushi chef. I have never in my life had food thrown at me before. I would suggest that the owner terminate the dysfunctional Sushi chef before the restaurant gets sued by someone who doesn't like flying Sushi.

I'm in the area on business and I came in at about 5:30pm. I sat at the bar and took in the menu. The jukebox was blaring and RiverMonsters was on the TV. This is definitely not the zen sushi place I'm used to and I loved it. They let me take my time and order piece by piece. Food: 1st order: Sea Scallop Sushi (one piece) and Yellowtail (one piece) - Each was so fresh and the rice was perfectly warm/room temp instead of chilled like most places. I really believe that this helps bring out the flavor of the sushi and I was definitely pleased with these two generous cuts. 2nd order: Volcano Voodoo Roll - It was a special of the night. I don't know entirely what was in it but it was just the right amount of spicy, with bright beautiful fresh tuna inside and a fish was on top that he used a blow torch on. It had so many fresh flavors, sometimes these overly complicated rolls taste, well, overly complicated but in this roll you could still taste every ingredient. -Sake shot: as I was finishing my roll the server brings out a shot of sake for me to have. It was warm and very smooth. He told me to "Go ahead and knock it back!" with a big smile. I was sort of sipping and savoring it but I swear it made the rest of my food taste even better when I just finally knocked it down and gulped on. 3rd order: Unagi Hand Roll- The eel was grilled right before it went in the roll and eel sauce drizzled throughout. Not a spiny bone to be found- it was the perfect dessert. Ambiance: I was the only person in the place until I left. The jukebox is super loud, pumping all the pop music that you love to tap your feet to and none of the stuff that I tend to change the radio. From Amy Winehouse to Madonna (which the sushi chef would discreetly sing along to). This seems like an awesome late night spot. They have a huge sake selection and a decent beer/wine selection and they're apparently open until at least 2AM every night. Cost/Value: It is definitely affordable for what you get. My special roll was expensive ($18) but it was double the size of most rolls I'm used to. This place is awesome! I'll be in walking distance for 2 more nights and you can bet I'll be back before I leave.
